Negotiation Styles from Creighton University

How do you manage conflict. While conflict is natural and often inevitable, the way we go thru them can determine if they become transformational or detrimental. Whether intercommunal, professional or personal, individuals, no two conflicts are alike.  This infographic from Creighton University shows many approaches and how to reach your desired result.  This infographic helps us self-process and become familiar with our own conflict management style.  Whats yours?

Please take poll,  If you know of any specific cases, tv, radio or media programing that has shown incitement or de-escalation I am especially interested. You can post these below or attach them to a twitter reply for @peaceforsale  on the left hand side, or click like on the facebook page and post there.  I will be posting results and analysis on Facebook in the coming week/s.

Social Marketing is about ACTION: targeted specific behavioral change. I am curious if you think that when applied to CR or peacebuilding -it can become a social engineering? Can we force people to be peaceful? Is offering incentives that are difficult to say no to (education, food, $, development) be a form of manipulation? OR… is basing our peacebuilding programs on the exchange theory: which states that everyone will act on their own self-interest – the best way to come to a peaceful resolution in the midst of violent conflict. Is it a necessary evil in this context? Is there a better way?

Please take the poll (answers adapted from ppt by Wienrich Communications), and even add your own answers if you wish
